Personalized Therapy, LLC has 70 team members as of September 2016. Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of Occupational Therapist’s (OT’s), Physical Therapist’s (PT’s), Speech Therapist’s (SLP’s), Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapist Assistant’s (COTA’s, PTA’s, SLPA’s), Rehab Technicians, Administrative Support Staff, Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Assistants (BCBA’s & BCaBA’s), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s), a Psychologist, and a Counselor.
The outpatient Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Behavioral Health Center has an outstanding group of individuals that are dedicated to serving our clients with the utmost care and respect they could ever hope to receive. We maintain a “patient-first” mentality that focuses first on the client we strive to give you the best experience possible while maintaining the highest level of professionalism!

Melanie Lohwater, Owner, MA, OTR/L MLD
Melanie Lohwater is the Owner and Founder of Personalized Therapy, LLC. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist, Melanie is a 2001 graduate of Mount Alyosius College where she received a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology. She has extensive experience working with adults, pediatrics and geriatrics. Melanie is certified in Lymphedema-Complete Digestive Therapy (CDT), Manual Lymphedema Drainage (MLD), Myofascial Release Techniques, Rescue Your Back Program, and Strain Counterstrain. She has completed advanced pediatric coursework in Autism, Sensory Integration, Therapeutic Listening®, Interactive Metronome®, Wilbarger Protocol, Astronaut Training, Neurobiofeedback, Integrated Listening Systems (ILS), auditory processing evaluations and treatments. She also has experience in driving evaluations, pain management, kinesio taping and modalities including electrical stimulation and ultrasound. As a traveling therapist, Melanie has had a broad experience in numerous therapy settings such as hospital acute care, sub acute care, transitional care, skilled nursing facilities, home health care, outpatient rehabilitation facilities, hand therapy clinics, burn care units and chronic ventilator units.
Kristi Getson, Clinical Director
Kristi Getson has been the Clinical Director for Personalized Therapy, LLC since its opening in 2006. Prior to joining Personalized Therapy, LLC she worked as a Division’s Business Operations Manager for a Department of Defense contractor. As a Mother of a Child with Autism she has specific interests in Special Education Advocacy, scientifically proven methodology in educating children with Autism, and effective biomedical interventions. She has served as the Chair and Vice Chair for the Citizens Advisory Committee for Special Education and a member of the American Academy of Medical Coders. Kristi is responsible for managing the daily operations and staff of Personalized Therapy, LLC.
Caitlin Gardiner, MS, OTR/L
Caitlin Gardiner, OTR/L is a licensed Occupational Therapist with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Occupational Therapy from Towson University. Prior to rejoining Personalized Therapy LLC in July 2011 as an Occupational Therapist, Caitlin completed three month clinicals at both Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and Ryde Community Health Centre in Australia. During her OT studies she also worked as a rehab tech at Personalized Therapy LLC over a two year period. Caitlin has completed coursework in several areas including: orthopedic rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, cardiac acute care, community mental health, adult and pediatric psychiatric hospitals, early intervention, and pediatric population (autism spectrum, ADD, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, sensory integration disorder, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, oral motor impairments, and handwriting difficulties). Caitlin also recently completed additional training in Integrated Listening Systems (ILS), shoulder complex rehabilitation and treatment. Her professional interests include neurological rehabilitation, ergonomic training, hand therapy, splinting, lymphedema, and sensory integration. “I have a strong desire to help those in need, while enabling them to live an independent and meaningful life.” – Caitlin Bazzarre
Kelly Barefoot, MS, OTR/L
Kelly is a 2001 graduate of Saint Francis University with a Bachelors of Health Science and a minor in Psychology. In 2002 she received her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. Kelly is NBCOT certified with an emphasis on Rehabilitation and Geriatrics. Kelly has extensive experience in skilled nursing facilities, acute care, long-term care, and assisted living facilities serving as a Rehabilitation Manager in all of those settings. Kelly is certified in modalities to address pain management, contractures, and urinary continence improvement. Her areas of interest include kinesio taping, splinting, and use of yoga in treatment sessions to improve balance, self-regulation, and body awareness.
Erin McCarthy, MS, OTR/L
Erin L. McCarthy, MS, OTR/L- graduated from Towson University in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science. Prior to graduation, Erin has worked as both a rehabilitation and ABA technician. Erin completed clinical experiences at St. Mary’s Hospital, HealthSouth, and Kennedy Krieger Institute’s outpatient facility. Prior to working at Personalized Therapy, Erin lived in Ellicott City, MD and has worked in various settings including: outpatient, school-based, and infants and toddlers. Erin’s professional interests include sensory integration, neurological rehabilitation, and pediatric feeding disorders.
Jean Faichney-Beyer, BS, OT
Jean Faichney joined Personalized Therapy in August 2016. She graduated from Mercy College with a Bachelors in Health Sciences (2003) and Masters in Occupational Therapy (2006). She has worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities, a PACE program, Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education. Her experience includes patients with Traumatic Brain Injury, ventilator dependent, geriatrics and pediatrics. Jean also has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and became an OT to further her work with children.
Jane Isleib, BS, COTA
Jane Isleib graduated from Pima Medical Institute in Denver, CO in 2011 with an Associate of Occupational Science degree. Previously, she had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from James Madison University. Prior to joining Personalized Therapy in January of 2016, Jane worked in outpatient hand therapy clinics in Denver, CO then Northern Virginia. Jane is certified in physical agent modalities, and she has additional training in splinting and kinesiotaping. Jane completed clinical rotations in outpatient pediatric therapy, and enjoys working with all populations. Jane’s professional interests include traumatic and repetitive strain injuries to the hand and upper extremity and splinting.
Heather Adams, BA, COTA
Heather Adams, COTA, is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and joined Personalized Therapy, LLC in April 2007. In 1994, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Maryland. In 1997 she graduated from the Denver Institute of Technology with an Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. Prior to joining Personalized Therapy, LLC, Heather worked 9 years in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. She is certified in SAEBO training, an intensive dynamic and static orthosis and patient/caregiver training protocol. She has also received certifications in dysphagia for deficits in swallowing. She has completed additional training in Integrated Listening Systems (ILS), apraxia, behavioral management, and treatment of the shoulder complex. Her professional interests include neurology, arthritis, and pain management.
Ann Cassetta, MS, PT
Ann Cassetta, PT, is a certified Physical Therapist and joined Personalized Therapy, LLC in October 2014. Ann earned her Master’s degree in physical therapy in 1996 from the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and since that time has devoted herself to honing her expertise in physical therapy. Her list of continuing education is extensive and includes courses such as Recent Advances in the Evaluation and Treatment of the Shoulder and Knee, Evidence Based Concepts of the Foot and Ankle, Spine Movement, Mobilization and Motivation as well as a full complement of McKenzie courses. Ann is certified in lymphedema management and is skilled at creating moldings for foot orthotics. She performs bio-amechanical running evaluations and specializes in sports medicine. As a professional with 18 years of outpatient experience, Ann has a wealth of experience treating a wide spectrum of orthopedic cases as well as injuries and conditions from pediatric through adult.
Eileen Gallamore, PT
Eileen Gallamore is a licenced Physical Therapist, a 1998 graduate of Langston University , OK where she received a Bachelors Degree of Science in Pysical Therapy. She has extensive experience in Acute Physical Therapy as well as Rehab and Outpatient PT. Eileen has completed multiple continuing education courses and has a specialty in Manual techniques for Orthopedic and Sports therapy to include Strain Counterstrain courses, Maitland courses, and Integrative techniques. Eileen has extensive experience with with many therapeutic settings but has a true love for increasing the functional mobility of her patients in Outpatient Physical Therapy.
Toby Lakin, AA, PTA
Toby Lakin PTA, is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and has been with Personalized Therapy, LLC since August 2006. He earned an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy at the College of Southern Maryland. After graduating in 1999, Toby, worked in various therapy settings including hospitals, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities. He enjoyed working in local nursing homes and outpatient orthopedic clinics over the past 12 years. Toby has taken special course work in Strain Counterstrain, Myofascial Release, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, and Shoulder Complex. He has a special interest in sports rehabilitation.
Susan Barry, MA, SLP
Susan Barry, M.A. SLP, is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and joined Personalized Therapy in December 2012. She earned her MA in Speech-Language Pathology with an emphasis on Communicative Disorders and Deaf – Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University. Susan has worked both in a private clinic as well as in the public school system ages ranging from birth to high school. Susan has had the opportunity to work with children and adults with a wide variety of communication challenges, including, but not limited to autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), cerebral palsy, rare genetic disorders, as well as fluency, and speech disorders.
Lorena Muir, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and joined Personalized Therapy, LLC in July 2011. Lorena earned her bachelor’s degree from Fontbonne College in St. Louis, Missouri and her Master’s degree from James Madison University in Harrisburg, VA. She has over 22 years of experience providing speech and language therapy in the nursing home and outpatient settings. She has special interest in working with children with disabilities and has taken special coursework in Autism.
Kendra King, BS, RBT, SLPA
Kendra King graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors of Science in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology in May 2015. Upon graduation, she began provided ABA services at Personalized Therapy, LLC. In September of 2015, she obtained her Register Behavior Technician (RBT) credential and Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) through the state of Maryland. Kendra has a variety of experience working with children in the home and clinic setting. Her special interests include early intervention and Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She is currently in the process of applying to Master’s programs for Speech-Language Pathology.
Lisa Hixson, M.Ed., BCBA
Lisa Hixson, MEd, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She joined Personalized Therapy in December 2014. Lisa has demonstrated the ability to work effectively in school, home, and community environments. She has over 14 years’ experience working with children and adults with special needs. Lisa’s passion for making a difference in the lives of others began early in her college career, where she attended SUNY Oswego and earned a bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education (2004). During college, Lisa worked with school age children at summer camps while employed by the YMCA. Lisa graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester with a Masters in Inclusive Childhood Education (2005) where she also attained an annotation to teach students with severe or multiple disabilities. Lisa moved to Maryland in 2006 to be a Special Education Teacher for St. Mary’s County Public Schools where she worked for 9 years. Lisa started and maintained social skills groups as well as developed many effective behavior intervention plans at the elementary school where she was employed. While employed by the public school system, she also worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) technician in children’s homes with supervision through Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Lisa began taking classes at Florida Institute of Technology and completed the ABA Basic and Advanced series, obtaining her BCBA in early 2014. During this time, she also worked as a family trainer implementing the Autism Waiver. Lisa brings a uniquely broad perspective to this job as she has been successful in both school and home settings.
Jennifer Forth, MSW, BCBA, LBA
Jennifer has been with Personalized Therapy, LLC since 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Francis University in Religious Studies and Philosophy, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. Throughout Jennifer’s life, she has pursued opportunities that allow her to make a positive impact on the lives of others. She has lead a summer camp for foster children, worked as a live-in residential counselor for homeless youth, and provided community outreach services to homeless families. Following her graduate degree, Jennifer’s worked in child welfare, assisting families that possessed a variety of emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Following the diagnosis of one of her children with autism and his experience receiving ABA, Jennifer decided to pursue a career in ABA. Jennifer received her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2015. She is also trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
Michaela Smyth, M.Ed., BCBA
Michaela joined Personalized Therapy’s team in December of 2015 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in May of 2016. Michaela has been providing ABA services to children with developmental disabilities since February of 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New Mexico State University. Following her completion of her bachelor’s degree she taught an after school program for the Boys and Girls Club in Grover Beach, California. While working for the Boys and Girls Club she realized her passion for helping children and went on to pursue her Masters of Education in Foundation of Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati. During this time, she worked in the Greater Los Angeles area providing ABA services to an array of individuals in home, clinic, and community based settings.
Jennifer Tennyson, MA, BCBA
Originally from the Southern Maryland area, Jennifer joined Personalized Therapy, LLC team in 2012 as a founding member of the Behavioral Health Center. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and she graduated from Ball State University with a Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Additionally, she holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Clemson University. She has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2008. She has experience in both private and public sectors providing services based on the principles of ABA to children ages 1-21 with a variety of disabilities. Jennifer is trained in both Lovaas and Mixed Verbal Behavior methodologies. She has expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as in the area of toilet training individuals with special needs. She also takes special interest in parent training, early intervention, as well as teaching executive functioning and social skills.
Krista Tippett, BCBA
Krista Tippett is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has been providing ABA services to individuals with ASD since March of 2014 when she joined the Personalized Therapy, LLC team. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University (2013) where she majored in Psychology and minored in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Following college, Krista led a number of inclusive recreational summer camps. During this time she discovered her passion for children with disabilities. She accepted a job offer from Personalized Therapy llc. and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis from Ball State University (2016). Krista has experience working with a wide age range of individuals in school, home, and community-based settings. Her special interests include opposition defiance disorder (ODD) and obsessive compulsive behaviors (OCD).
Erin King, RBT, Future BCaBA
Erin King began her career as an ABA Therapy Provider in November 2013. She earned her Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in the fall of 2015. She is currently enrolled in school working towards my BCaBA credential. Prior to joining the Personalized Therapy team she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington College and her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Casey Kerig joined Personalized Therapy in August 2014. She graduated from Liberty University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She received her Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential in June 2015. She is currently enrolled in the BCaBA program at Ball State University. In the future, she aspires to complete a Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis to become a BCBA.
Brandi Webb, RBT, Future BCaBA-2018
Brandi Webb first began providing ABA services with the Personalized Therapy team in March 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and received her RBT credential in July 2015. She is currently pursuing her BCaBA certification with the Florida Institute of Technology, and aspires to earn her Master’s degree in Professional Behavior Analysis. She has been working with individuals with developmental disabilities since 2011 in a variety of settings. Her special interests include language acquisition, adaptive skills training, and parent training.
Heather Przybyla, RBT, Future BCBA-2017
Heather has been working with special needs students for the past 10 years and providing ABA services to individuals with ASD since August of 2014. In June of 2016 she joined the Personalized Therapy, LLC team. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Capella University and is currently working on her Master’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and studying to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Heather has experience working with a wide age range of individuals in both public and private schools and home-based settings. Her special interests include aggression and self-injurious behavior reduction and augmentative communication through assistive technology.
Sherrye Urtz, M.P.H LGPC
Sherrye is a graduate of George Washington University with a Masters of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health. She also received a post graduate degree Certificate in Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Sherrye has worked with a variety of clients of all ages in mental health settings including outpatient mental health services for children and adolescents, as well as women and families’ experiencing the loss of a child; particularly perinatal loss. She has been trained in trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and grief and loss. Sherrye works with individuals, families and groups and she has professional and personal experience of psychosocial issues related to the impact of loss, ADHD, and emotional regulation. Areas of interest include women’s health issues such as infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, traumatic birth experiences, birth and parenting after loss, loss as a result of suicide and other traumatic injuries. Children and adolescent interests include loss of a parent due to divorce and other factors, ADHD and co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, and self-regulation. Sherrye is a member of the ACA (American Counseling Association) and LCPCM (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland).
Dr. Pres Keeton, Psy.D.
Dr. Pres Keeton joins Personalized Therapy, LLC as its first staff Psychologist. He received his Master’s degree from Western Carolina University and his Doctor of Psychology degree from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School & Old Dominion University), graduating in 1986.
He has worked primarily with adults for the last 21 years, although he has also seen adolescents age 17 and older and has continuously consulted on and supervised child and family cases. He is licensed to practice psychology in North Carolina and Maryland. He has special interests in working with law enforcement, military and other public service personnel and agencies. He has worked with many active-duty members, retirees, and dependents. He frequently works with impaired professionals from legal, healthcare and religious domains. He works with couples as well as individuals and groups.
Clinically, he has focused on assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, eating disorders and problems with body image, emotional problems secondary to medical problems and alcohol and substance abuse when secondary to other behavioral/emotional difficulties. His primary theoretical focus is cognitive-behavioral with a strong emphasis on the working alliance in therapy. He has been formally trained in EMDR and also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing principles in his work.
Erica Aispuro Regan, M.S., LGPC
Erica joined Personalized Therapy in February of 2017 and is a Mental Health Counselor. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland, and is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland. While obtaining her graduate degree, Erica worked at the Center for Eating Disorders inpatient and partial hospitalization program at Sheppard Pratt Hospital providing individual and group counseling for adolescents. She also spent time working at the University of Florida Health Center at Shands Vista Hospital providing therapeutic interventions, such as in vivo and imaginal exposures, to clients of all ages struggling with anxiety. Erica is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Therapy, and biofeedback treatment techniques. Her preferred and primary treatment method is cognitive-behavioral with a client-centered focus and her primary areas of interest include: eating disorders, anxiety, depression, body image, ADHD, self-esteem issues, and major life transitions. Erica works primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults in individual and group settings. Additionally, Erica is a proficient Spanish speaker. Erica habla y escribe Español.
Kari Staley, BCBA, LBA
Kari joined the Personalized Therapy team in December of 2016. She received her Master’s degree in Psychology at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. After obtaining her degree, Kari began working as a psychological associate at a residential facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in East Texas. While there, she provided behavioral services , crisis intervention, and advocacy to various populations including both adults and children. She primarily worked with geriatrics and medically-fragile populations. Kari discovered a passion for working with and advocating for people with disabilities during her 5 years at the residential facility. She also pursued her interest in applied behavior analysis, becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in May 2012 through the University of North Texas.
